Translation Notes[]
The English Geneon translation, the Italian Blu-ray and the English synopsis use Kyoransky however on the Italian dub and the animation it is Kyoramsky. It is unknown what is the English name given on Lupin III DVD Collection in English.
In the Japanese original, as Lupin and Jigen doze off, Fujiko expresses surprise at how unsophisticated they are. In the English dub, she brings up that, by contrast, they could stay up all night for a kung-fu epic. In the Italian dub, she remarks that they simply don't appreciate good music.
Mistakes[]
- 8:46-8:53 - Orchestra on the record is spelled as ORCESTRA.
- In a wide shot of the balcony, Jigen's arm goes through his chair.
Notes[]
- This was adapted from Lupin Funeral March First and Second Movement chapters of the manga. While the plotline for the first chapter is similar in that a conductor wants Lupin to be dead, there is a major difference. In the manga, Kyoransky is known as Ataginez however he turns out to be Zenigata in disguise in the first part of the second chapter. The plotline of Lupin unveiling his secrets and his secret base was completely dropped in the adaptation.
- The record of Kyoransky that Jigen was holding uses the same model number as Also Sprach Zarathustra / Till Eulenspiegel Lustige Streiche that was released in 1963. Seraphim was changed to SERARHIM due to copyright reasons and copyright info from CBS/Sony was added.[2]
- This is the last episode of Lupin the 3rd Part 2 that was ever officially released that was dubbed into English. Voice actor Richard Epcar claimed that "over a hundred episodes" were dubbed into English and listed in his resume as 104 episodes, but none of these episodes were released on home video due to the closure of Geneon and unknown how far the translation had got up to outside of a dub title name for Episode 80. The existence of the remaining dubbed episodes is uncertain considering that streaming sites such as Crunchyroll and later home releases such as Discotek's Lupin the Third Part II Collection 3 onwards are subtitled only.
- In Part 2 Episode 48, Jigen says he loves classical music. Here, he finds classical music boring, is only interested in the diamond-studded baton and sleeps through the performance. Lupin also mentions that Jigen prefers ballads.
- The English dub has Dan Lorge's final officially released performance as Zenigata.
