Is the Invader Safe Open? is the 111th episode of Lupin the 3rd Part 2.
Synopsis[]
Catherine rescues Lupin and Jigen, who are pursued by Zenigata as usual. She's an old acquaintance of Jigen's, and provokes Jigen to steal a 140-karat diamond from her own mansion. But Jigen is insulted by her condescending ways, even as she gives him the blueprint of her mansion. However, there has to be a reason why she wants her own home robbed...

Mistakes[]
- On the Italian TV airings, due to adding the Italian title card at the beginning rather than its spot in the Japanese original accidentally removes the first scene with the posters on the wall. This affects all TV airings from the original EuroTV airing in the early 1980s to the current airings on Italia 2 but not DVD or Blu-ray releases where the title card is in same place as the original.
- The second scene where three men stand outside a house shows a black curved area at the top right hand corner. This reappears when Lupin, Jigen and Catherine drive away from Zenigata.
- When Lupin is driving in the car asking Jigen about Catherine, tape strip residue can be seen on the right hand side. It disappears when it does the pan towards Jigen and Goemon.
Notes[]
- The game that Lupin and Jigen play in the mansion is Space Invaders. While the episode references the game from the gameplay itself to the sprites of the Invaders, it is not refered to as its name.
- On the newspaper that Jigen reads has a Dennis the Menace (US) drawing, TMS were later involved with the DiC animated series and in Italy, it was aired on Italia 1 the same channel that this series aired on.
- While it is unknown what newspaper was used, it dates roughly around October 27, 1979 due to Choi Kyu-hah was made acting President of South Korea and the assassination of Park Chung-hee.
- While Jigen scouts the officers watching the mansion and Zenigata eating his ramen as he looks for Catherine's room, one of the officers watches Lupin the 3rd Part 2 on the TV breaking the fourth wall.
